This guide didn’t work for me. Another reason may be because I couldn’t find the libtiff3 and libpng2 packages. My computer had to be reprogrammed recently and now my printer does not work. I also got my Canon i working using the above instructions.
I have tried everything listed on this thread and still when J865 send to the printer, it says it is printing but the printer itself does not respond.

Thanks for all the help. Printing, pick the Paper tab and choose correct paper. DO you know how to install gtkpod? Before installing the pixus driver, I had the BJC driver working for my i but when I printed, the position on the page was not that good.
I don’t know much about serial ports, I just know what they look like, and that they’re older than USB. I know Linux users, including me, are in love with free but, I’d look at turboprint.
